Ronald Weasley didn’t appreciate Harry and Draco’s growing affection towards each other. Even during the war, Ron would be easily angered by Draco and quick to brawl. Tonight was no exception.
“Lay your grubby hands on me, Weasel! I fucking dare you! You need to remember where your station truly is.”
Shacklebolt held Malfoy back while Hermione and Charlie Weasley restrained Ron. Harry stood in between them, unsure of which side he should be on.
“Oh, and you’re just the wizard to remind me, are you?”
“Make the move, Minge... and we’ll soon see!”
“You’re pathetic, Malfoy,” Ron spat. “Shite as your upbringing was, the least you could have done was be true to it! You don’t have any morals - good or ill, and that makes you worse than any Death Eater I’ve had the pleasure of killing!”
The crowd was shocked. Even Draco was visibly affected, as though it was a truth so fundamental, it stabbed him like hot pyre. The fact that Ron was the one to kill Lucius certainly hadn’t helped matters. Harry looked torn, but when Ron Apparated away and Draco stormed off, Harry followed his lover and not his friend.
