Sirius sighed and picked up the heavy tattered leather suitcase and set it down next to the box of books by the fireplace. He wiped his hands on his jeans and turned around to see Remus looking back at him, a sad expression dripping from his face. Sirius stuck his hands in his pockets and looked up at him.

“How long will you be gone, then?” he asked.

“A month.” Moony replied, shifting from foot to foot. His hair fell haphazardly into his eyes and he peered through them to look at Sirius.

“You’ll write, won’t you?” Sirius asked, drawing closer. His shadowy eyes were filled with desperation and longing. “You won’t forget about me?”

Lupin laughed. He took a step closer and pressed his forehead to Black’s, the tip of their noses touching softly. Sirius could feel Lupin’s breath, hot and soothing, against his dry lips. “How could I forget you?” Remus wrapped an arm around the small of Sirius’s back and drew him closer. He inched his face forward and brushed his lips against Sirius’s chin. “I love you,” he whispered.

Sirius nodded rapidly and tried to push their lips together, but Lupin shook his head. He moved his face around to kiss Padfoot’s ears, biting the lobe hungrily and lustfully. A soft groan escaped Sirius’s lips as he pawed at Remus’s waist. Lupin made his way down Black’s neck and licked it, nibbling playfully at the soft flesh.

“I…love you…t-too,” Sirius moaned into Remus’s ear. Lupin grinned and nodded.

“You’d had better.”

Remus began to suck on Sirius’s collarbone. He pulled him closer and lapped at the skin as if he were a hungry dog. Sirius tilted his head back and closed his eyes, suppressing a sigh mingled with lust and annoyance.

“Would you kiss me already?” he breathed.

Lupin looked up and smiled. “I was waiting for you to say that,” Remus placed a hand on into the black abyss that was Padfoot’s hair and held their lips together for several seconds. They’re tongues swam together, exploring the ribbed entrances until the chime of the small mantel clock startled them.

Lupin pulled back but still held Black close to him. “I have to go,” he mumbled.

Sirius sighed and pouted, giving Remus a quick kiss before pulling back. “You’d had better write to me. Send me pictures. Anything.”

“I will, mon amore,” Remus said, running a hand down the side of his lovers face.

“I’ll miss you while you’re in Paris.”

“I’ll miss you, too,” Remus picked up his suitcase and box of books and shoved them under his arms. He stepped into the fireplace and placed the box down beside him, the suitcase gripped in one hand. Sirius extended the Floo powder towards him and stepped back as Lupin smiled, winked, muttered his location, and was gone in a puff of smoke.

Sirius sighed and wandered over to their couch, plopping himself down. He drew his head into his hands and sighed, wiping away the silent tears streaming down his face. He was heart-broken. The love of his life had left for Paris without him, and he would be gone for an entire month. Padfoot pawed at his face with his sleeve and turned to face the side table, a picture resting under the lamp, framed in a mahogany binding.

The photograph, Sirius and Remus standing in front of a café in London and kissing, made a small smile appear on his face. He ran his thumb over the moving lithe figure of Lupin, watching him giggle silently.

“I love you,” he whispered, more silent tears wafting down his cheeks. “I love you.”
