That's just pitiful. Who is it?

Keri Arthur. She tries to excuse it as 'moon heat' or something as the character's a werewolf, but . . . it's just not practical for a species to be entirely consumed with a need to have sex for a full week per month.

What happened to "I am a modern woman who enjoys sex and isn't afraid to admit it" as an excuse for smut? It still works.

Working out a theoretical scenerio, I can get the ovulation synching with the moon and a 'heat' lasting the day before, of, and after the full moon (to increase the odds of fertilization occuring -- that's the whole point behind nature deciding to have this happen) with the actual release of the egg the day of the full moon. That I could buy. But a sexfest for a full week every month?

Shit, I thought I clicked on fanficrants for a second there and now I'm surprised that that made it through publishing.

Wow. Words can not express.

I figure it made it through for the same reason She Who Must Not Be Named has managed to publish erotica: Sex sells, moreso if it somehow manages to come across as popular and mainstream.

I have read this book. My God. You hit the nail on the head. Plus for all the "progressive" women enjoying sex, they are very submissive in the actual sexual encounters. That annoyed me greatly. The character is a girl who needs sex and loves it, yet she waits on the men and lets them take the lead. Hell no.
