The first thing Erica sees when she wakes up are the faces of Lydia Martin and Allison Argent. Its unexpected, considering when everything went dark, she was in a bank vault clawing at the ground to get closer to Boyd after Kali used her body as a scratching post.
“Morning sunshine.” Lydia smiled down at her. “As soon as you’re ready, we’re going dress shopping.”
At what must have been Ericas very confused face, Allison offered up, “Prom’s tomorrow night.” Which really only confused Erica more. How long had she been out? Why was there first concern PROM?
“I don’t have a date.” Erica offered up. Her voice was scratchy and weak, like it hadn’t been used in some time. Allison gave Erica a sad smiled.
“Of course you do. Now cmon, we’ve gotta pick the dress so the boys can make sure Boyd’s tux matches.” Allison said.
“Boyd’s taking me to prom? Wait, Im...so confused. How’d we get out of the vault? How is it already prom?” Erica said, starting to panic a little.
“Its a long story that you probably don’t want to know. Just...go with it okay?” Lydia said. “Enjoy prom.” Lydia said, the same sad smile on her face.
They’d managed to find a beautiful black and purple dress that fit Erica like a glove. The next day, the three of them went to Lydia’s to get ready. Erica felt like a princess, she’d never thought she’d get to go to prom, before the bite. When she looked at herself in the mirror she almost couldn’t believe she was looking at herself.
The boys arrived for pictures and Erica was once again confused. Isaac walked right up to her and pulled her into a bone crushing hug, wouldn’t let go until Boyd tapped his shoulder. Boyd looked at her like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“You look amazing.” He said sincerely. Boyd leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Really amazing. I missed you.” He said, sounding a little choked up.
“I missed you too.” Erica smiled and laced their fingers together.
At the dance, Erica finally got the courage to start asking questions again, while her and boyd slow danced to a song.
“Boyd, what happened?” Erica asked quietly. “The last thing I remember is being in that bank vault with you. Isaac greated me like he hadn’t seen me in years, Stiles and Scott actually teared up when they saw me. Derek and Jackson aren’t even in beacon hills anymore, apparently, and Lydia and Danny are here at prom with two of the wolves who kidnapped us.” She hissed.
Boyd looked at her sadly.
“And that. Everyone keeps giving me that look.” Erica said, frustratedly.
“We died, Erica.” Boyd sighed. “You died. Kali killed you in the bank vault and I had to...I had to live months without you. Its a long story that ends with the twins and Kali forcing Derek’s claws into my stomach. We both died...and they brought us back. But its been..a while.” Boyd said. “They didn’t tell me everything, but Kali’s dead, so is Ennis. Deucalion’s in the wind somewhere, but according to Scott he wont be back. The wonder twins redeemed themselves somehow but they’re not getting my forgiveness.” Boyd said angrily. “What matters now is that we’re here, both of us. I don’t...know if whatever they did to bring us back is temporary or not, but lets just...enjoy tonight, okay?”
Tears streamed down Erica’s face, she couldn’t believe what Boyd was saying. She nodded, feeling a bit numb about the whole thing. Erica leaned forward to rest her head on Boyd’s chest as they danced, listening to his heart beat in time with her own.
“We’ll enjoy tonight.” Erica agreed, stepping away from him once the slow song ended and a faster one started up. Erica wiped her tears away and smiled.
“After all, its prom, bitch!”

“Lydiiaaaa”
Lydia groaned and covered her head with a pillow.
“Lyyydiaaaa. Lydia!”
Lydia huffed and sat up in bed.
“It is one thirty in the morning, Mrs Hale. What on earth is so important that you need to wake me up at one thirty in the morning for?” Lydia said frustratedly to the woman sitting in her desk chair.
“Derek is upset.” Talia said.
“He usually is.” Lydia mumbled.
Talia glared at her. “Derek is upset, and he needs something to cheer him up. Brownies usually do the trick, but only my special brownies. Grab a pen, you need to write this recipe down. Everything was lost in the fire, so listen carefully because its going to be the only copy of this recipe, it better be right.”
Lydia’s eyes narrowed. “You woke me up at one thirty in the morning, on a school night, for a brownie recipe.”
“A secret, Hale family recipe. Laura was always shit at baking so I never taught her. Cora though, Cora is wonderful at baking, you need to give her the recipe so she’ll make them for Derek.” Talia said.
“I have a test tomorrow.”
“My son cries himself to sleep at night. Every night.”
Lydia groaned and reached for the notebook she kept on her bedside table.
“Fine, tell me the freaking recipe.”
