I turn 40 in about a month and a half. Sometime in the last 10 years or so, I stopped thinking that someday I'd feel like I was a real adult. Objectively, in some ways, I've never had some of the childishness that you mention (really, how does anyone ever think that getting *sooo* drunk and puking everywhere is a good/amusing thing? this never made any sense to me, even when I was 16...), but in other ways I'm barely competent to take care of myself. And the older I get, the more certain I am that I never ever ever want to breed (and the less I think my genes are worth passing on).

Meh.
