It's been a long time since anybody wanted to be with him this much.
Ahhh, this line just got me. such a lonely bittersweet tale. I like seeing a snippet of Dean after Sam left. His thoughts about what he should be and then having no idea. He really was "Daddy's blunt little instrument". So good to know he's grown into so much more.
BTW, my mom had a cat adopt her about 3 years ago. He would disappear and come back and so of course she had to name him Sam (she watches the show too)! Sam is all friendly now and has to hang out with her all the time. He even walked me to my car as I was leaving on Saturday. My mom lives alone. I think animals have a way of knowing what we need.

A cat adopted my family when I was in high school - she liked us better, apparently, and ended up living with us for 12 years!
