Update at Site

Oct 02, 2016 07:19

Sorry I've been kind of MIA lately. Sometimes I just need a break from it all. But I should be back now and ready to write / read / participate.

I've updated my site with two of Hope1iz's newer stories - The Cost of Vengeance from the movie Now You See Me 2, and Diamond Eyes which is a crossover between Expendables and NCIS:LA.

I've also posted  ( Read more... )

We are all slowly getting to rediscover the joys of Fandom, lol.

Glad you are back!

And... Thanks for the updates...

By the way, how do you pick whose story or author join the other fabulous stories on your site (after all without your site I wouldn't have discovered Supernatural discipline stories and knew they existed and then tracked the sites they were on and then ending up at spn-spankings, lol)?

Lol... Now that you pointed it out... I do feel a bit aged :)

It's okay though, there is so much value in the archiving of these moments in time for the Fandoms we love that I can only encourage you to do more!!!

It completely makes sense, I am finding out in my Master Fic list that some of the folks for whom I wrote stories are no more online (or at least with that name) on LJ or other sites and ultimately things evolve and some beautiful stories still get lost because a journal disappears... So if you really still feel up to it, by all means ask away to all the people you admire (even if they have their own site) because we never know how things will turn :D

I am just happy to have been lucky enough to enjoy them and to know I can stop by anytime and still benefit from the fact they are safe and sound on your site!

It's always disappointing when I liked a story and then can't find it a few years later because the person has taken them down or shut down their page. Then I wish I had those stories on my site so I could see them whenever I wanted. I actually do have several stories saved on my personal computer for me to read again whenever I want because I was worried someone would take them down, but I never asked permission about those - I just kept them for me. Most notably the SPN story 'Of Pie and Self-Loathing' and the X-men story 'Family Matters ( ... )

Welcome back. =) I fully understand the need to take a break. I do that myself sometimes. This year, I think we've all been MIA. I know I haven't been as active online these days since I've been focusing on getting my writing career started. I self-published my first short story on Amazon and Smashwords last week and am now officially an indie author! Woo hoo! Also got accepted into Goodreads' author program the same week. So I've been really excited about that. Currently working hard on more stuff, including a full-size book in a series I'm putting together.

At the same time, I've been working on fanfics in between. *phew* It's been a really busy summer over here. No, I haven't forgotten about this community. Just haven't had much new stuff to post due to spending most of my time on original writing these days.

Hi Frosty,

Congrats! That's fantastic that you've self published. That's a lot of work - I'm impressed.

Yeah, sometimes a break is just... necessary. At least it is for me.

Thanks. =) Oh, yes, it is definitely a lot of work. But it’s so worth it in the end. Although, since I now know what I’m doing, I’m hoping it won’t be as difficult from now on. The first time is always the hardest because you have no idea what you’re doing and you’re unorganized. lol! I’m just glad I started with a short story until I figured out everything. I’m going to try to publish a full-size book next year that's part of a series I'll be working on (it's about superheroes), hopefully, so I’ve got a lot more work ahead in the New Year. I got my manuscript completely done in October. Will begin work on rewrites in January after I take a break through Christmas. Super excited to see what next year holds. Looking forward to holding my book in print form some day very soon. I've been working toward this for such a long time.
