A week ago tonight, Le Trombone hosted a CD release party for me. Let me say it was both a musical and social highlight of this year, and since the year is nearly up, I figure it's going to win my "Favorite Night of 2008" award hands down, and has major nominations for "My Best Performance" and "Coziest Venue" as well. I'll keep you posted on the ( Read more... )

Is there any way that those of us that couldn't come can get your new cd?

You bet! Take a gander to my website, www.sarahwilfong.com, and look for the shiny button that says "buy now" at the bottom of the page. Then I will jump up and down with glee and mail you one right away. :)

I'm confused. This was a cd release party right? Which cd? Was it for Fiddle Soup, which I already have or a new one? I thought Fiddle Soup came out last year.

Yes, Fiddle Soup came out last year, but I never got around to having an official release party for it. Or to play any of the material off of it live, for that matter! So yes, old CD, slightly confusing.

Amen! Thanks again for the opportunity to play-it was a heck of a good time.

Cheers!

Rats, I forgot to request "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Next time.

[insert evil chuckle here]

It was a pleasure to host your concert. Thanks, I'd gone too long between house concerts.

The battle of will is on. :)

You're going to raise an eyebrow at me? At ME!?

I've been raising an eyebrow since before you handled a bow.

Battle of wills indeed.

That may be true, but when it comes to will-battling, with a name like Wilfong, I feel I have an innate advantage. Also, I battle while being cute and perky which generally puts people off their guard. Oops, now I've gone and spilled my secret. Drat.

Would you believe that, in all my years of performing, I have NEVER EVEN ONCE done The Devil Went Down to Georgia? OK, well, I played as a sideman in a takeoff called The Devil Went Down to Bristol at BAPA graduation once. ONCE.

On another note, I may have asked this before, but are you naked behind that fiddle in your icon?

Nope, it's a strapless dress. But you'd be amazed how many people have been scandalized by that photo...

I am SO sorry that we weren't able to make your show. Alyse and I have been completely slammed by work, and while were had made plans to be there, I went home early on Wednesday night and crashed and burned, then called in sick the next day as well. All the while wishing that I could have made it to the show.

Very glad that it went well, and that you felt so renewed. ;)

Aw, no worries. My master plan is that this was the first of many Sarah-centric shows, so there will always be next time. Hope stuff calms down for you guys though, it's never good to get to the burnout point. Hugs!
