Beet Pulp Safety Warning (aka the famous squirrel story)

Dec 17, 2005 20:12

I am on a number of email lists, and people are forever posting web addresses of sites they think are of interest. Members on one of the lists exchange Christmas gifts with each other in the "Secret Santa" manner - no matter that we really have no idea about what the person would like, or perhaps have never met them. My Secret Santa target this ( Read more... )

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making me laugh when I had just finished doing one person's taxes and could no longer put off tackling someone else's very awkward accounts so that I can do her taxes before the year end (in the UK they have to be in and paid by 31 January and I won't be here/functioning after the end of December). I shall send the link to my brother who will greatly appreciate the equine feeding bit, since he is responsible for the formulation of an equine ration which is used by all those trainers of Champion Hurdlers in the UK who can get hold of it. The secret is known only by my brother and the owner of the small mill in the Midlands where it is produced. Most of the major feedstuff manufacturers would love to get the formula, but Rob and his partner won't sell, so the secret will probably die with the miller ( ... )

Hi! Norwegian student teacher lurking around. Interested in being friend and perhaps mentor? I don't know how to play the fiddle:/

Norwegian traditional music is glorious! I only know a few tunes, but they are terrific, and I love listening to the music. I'd be happy to help with the teaching if I can. I'm not sure how teaching 7/8 year olds in the US translates to Norway, but if you need ideas or feedback, I'll be glad to try to help.

Sure, go ahead! this is only my third year teaching, but I came into it with a longish career in animal behavior research. I think the life experience has been helpful; I can't imagine what kind of a teacher I'd have been as a young person! I had no patience, also no confidence.I have a certain credibility as a teacher at this stage in life because I'm older than most of my students' grandparents and I've raised three kids. Most of my comments about teaching I've made in the Teaching Community, but I do occasionally comment here as well.

Hi-- I saw a post you made on a teaching message board and read a bit of your journal. I am adding you to my friend's list. I'm a somewhat new teacher, too (taught 4th and 5th for three years, but have a leave of absence for the next two years to do an MA in English).

My Masters degree will be in education, and I'm working on it while teaching and fiddling. Sometimes, I actually have time to sleep, but it doesn't happen often enough! I envy your opportunity to concentrate on studying. I'm interested in children's literature, and I'm very lucky to have a large classroom library full of mostly donated books. I've not had much opportunity for formal study of children's lit, though. I'll look forward to reading your posts.
