Well, some of it, maybe. There wasn't a lot of "life" to begin with. But, yes, after March 11, I only have one more class called "seminar" which is what we do while were writing/working on our thesis projects. It only meets 4 times, probably to discuss progress. I think I'm going to be doing a survey of school libraries in my local district to find out what school librarians (in our case, no trained librarians, all library "aides") do to promote a love of reading/voluntary reading/motivated readers. I haven't found any research directly on this topic, though there's a lot out there on what credentialed librarians do and what classroom teachers should do with their classroom libraries. I figure if the aides are doing interesting things, it's an opportunity to say what a great thing is happening, let's spread the news and let other folks know. If nothing is happening, I can say how sad, this is a missed opportunity, etc. If I can't get the paper done by June 4th, I can get an extension to finish the paper by December.
