Update on Juliet

Juliet went to the Dr. today, the vet I liked last fall. I called this morning to find out the vet's name and when I could bring Juliet in to see her - today is the vet's last day to see patients before her vacation, but she'll be in tomorrow morning to tell me the results of the blood test. I'm SO GLAD your kitty is not diabetic! Keeping my fingers crossed that she gets better soon!

Me too! She isn't exactly sick, but there are signs she's on the way there if we don't do something. I like this vet. She doesn't push you into doing things that aren't necessary. She said she has diabetes herself and has become the diabetes expert at this vet clinic as a result.

Soo very glad that you got Juliet to the vet and delighted, too, that it's not diabetes, though it is amazing how quickly diabetic cats adapt to having their daily injections. If it is thyroid, then it just means getting a pill into her every day, as I have to do with Zara, who also has to have heart pills, so it's just a case of getting her food ready, getting the pills ready, finding her and wrapping her in the oven cloth so that she can't scratch me, getting her mouth open, putting the pills at the back of her throat, closing her mouth before she can spit the pills out through the spaces where teeth used to be, and rubbing her throat so that she has to swallow, in spite of herself. A breeze really! But worth it to keep her in good health and around the place. She sometimes purrs when I wrap her in the oven cloth because she knows that, at the end of all the nonsense, there'll be something interesting to eat. As you say, if it's kidney trouble, there is a diet for it, but of course, Zara has kidney problems too, and I just have ( ... )
