Buying a House fairwells September 5 2009, 03:49:11 UTC
Buying a House is a major step, especially in becoming an established adult. I think it's something to really take the time out and think it through. You could buy it and rent it out is a possibility you mentioned. And if you ever wanted to move you could sell it or continue to rent it out. Maintaining a house is a lot of work though. The upkeep, the taxes. It's really up to you. I always thought I'd buy a house when I got married, because I'd need room for children. That's when I thought I would buy a house. But single people do buy houses. It can also be a savvy investment for you. Bounce the idea around and think about it. Good luck!

The con's to owning a house is that you're suddenly responsible for anything that goes wrong.

As much as I'd love to own my own place one day, it's terribly convenient to call my landlord when something needs fixing.

that's definitely true, i appreciate being able to just call our landlord and let him know when something goes wrong. i'm not really sure i ever want to be the person that people call when a house goes wrong, but good to remember. hope all is going well with you these days dear.
