I know I'm very shallow and lame, but did my new post at atriumlupus really blow? Besides Jan, I got, like, total shiznet.

I mean, I enter every icontest imaginable, and I lose them to total crap icons. Like this one I'm using, here. I thought it was gorgeous, but it lost. Not even a mod's ( Read more... )

Although I've never entered any icon contests, I've entered art shows, only to lose to LUH-HOOZERS!!! Like seriously, this one painting looked like a child puked up Peeps all over it and smeared it around with their fucking ass, and called it "Final Fantasy". Bwah. That's probably the only reason it won. My friend said I was being really mean and that the girl who made it worked really hard on it, but I think...she didn't work hard enough. HAHAHA!!!! I'm such a bitter little bitch.

Can you believe it? Jan's never won an art contest before.

Your icons are nice! I only entered one icontest once before and that was Reichicontest; I got third place like face_the_world_ did. I know the feeling~ it sucks. :[

Maybe make your own icontest comm? ^_^

Well, I can't offer words of advice or anything. I'll just say I'm not into Final Fantasy or dogs, and you went a bit crazy with the light textures. XD They were good icons, just not my cup of tea. ^_^

*shrugs* The thing about icontests and things is that the opinion is based on what other people think. Sometimes these other people are complete idiots, and there's not much you can do about it. And, seriously, as cliche as it sounds, you really can't base what you think of your work on what other people say. If you think you did your best and you think it looks good, then that's enough to be proud of. I know that for a short while, it'll kind of sting that what you think is crap others think is good, but eventually you'll get over it. *shrugs* Not helpful, I know, but eh ( ... )
