Those houses are making me twitch... in a good way. They're gorgeous and I'm totally jealous that you got to grow up in such a house & neighborhood. And even more jealous that you have that much snow, when I have none at all :(

Everything looks so peaceful under a blanket of snow... that is until you have to shovel your car out. Then the air is filled with curses and more curses. :)

Happy mini vacation to you!

my little car usually manages to make it out pretty well. i can only think of maybe one time in three or four winters that i've had to actually shovel out the tires. it's got a lot of kick, and a surprising amount of traction for being so little, so i can usually get out of the snow onto the roads.

Very cool :) We are supposed to get some kickass snow this weekend too. It's been rather cold lately so I'm hoping I can play with the new digicam and get some cool shots.

Does your dad do all the work on his VW himself or does he have a mechanic shop in the area that he trusts?

I just bought a VW (Golf TDI) to be exact and am looking for recommendations for a good place to take it when it needs work. I am living in London these days but spending lots of time in Hamilton, so Brantford (that's where you live right?) would be convenient enough for me if your dad knows a good guy there.

he doesn't do all of the work himself, and when he does need help, i'm pretty sure he usually goes to a place called the bug shop in niagara falls. i know that might not be overly convenient, so i'll ask him if he knows anywhere in the 403 corridor between london and hamilton.

he used to have a local mechanic that he trusted, but he retired a few years ago unfortunately.
