On burning books and moving on

As a general rule I'm against burning books.  For any reason.  I think it's disrespectful and just...wrong.  However recently, as I deal with my anxiety problems via therapy, I've come up with an idea for a ritual of sorts that might help me let go of my negative college experience ( Read more... )

Letting go of pains from our pasts is a very good thing. I did that with a bunch of similarly painful memory-inducing things before I moved out here. It was very cathartic.

I admit that part of me cringes to think of you burning music books, but I entirely understand the need to let go of the past, and if this helps you to do so, then I'm all for it.

Amusingly, I was in Dale Music yesterday looking at the same kinds of books. I think I'm ready to start singing again for real. (i.e. not just at karaoke or in choruses for community theater) No idea what that means yet, but I guess I'll find out.

That is pretty funny. And if you had a hope in hell of singing anything in my books I'd gladly gift them to you but I'm pretty sure you're not a mezzo-soprano. :P
