Quest 002 (Video/Action): oN A MISSION,

Nov 05, 2010 20:07

[Upon viewing this video footage, you will be rewarded with a truly unusual sight: a line-facing Gastly. :| That's right, someone has managed to find possibly the only Gastly in Johto that isn't grinning like an idiot. After a few seconds of her apathetic mug, Tavros gently waves her aside and rolls his wheelchair a little closer to where he set up ( Read more... )

Dude, you were a troll?

[And in one fell swoop, Heather snatches up a single irrelevant detail of the whole transmission and goes gallavanting off with it, ignoring the point of the post entirely.]

Like one of those creepy little naked ones with the technicolor hair?

[We would expect no less of such a great mind as hers.]

Uhh, no, I've, uhh, never heard of a troll like that, and I'm not sure, what "technicolor" means... But I had, uhh, gray skin, and orange horns, on the sides of my head. And I think, uhh, my blood changed color too, when I was turned into a human.

[She is wise beyond her years.]

.... Oh. Huh.

Well, as long as you weren't one of the creepy naked ones, we're good.

[He's lucky she's not a B Horror movie aficionado, otherwise he'd probably be dealing with really bad Troll 2 jokes from her end.]

No, uhh, I don't think I was ever creepy, or at least I hope not, and I was never naked, except for the times, uhh, when it's normal, for someone to be naked. So, umm, hopefully we are good, then.

[That might or might not be an improvement on the canonical Little Monsters references. At any rate, Tavros is still completely confused, but decides to leave well enough alone.]

... [ that is a lot of talking.

The Growlithe poking her head into the feed seems to think so, too. ]

[He laughs sheepishly, rubbing his neck.] Ahaha, I guess, umm, that was a lot, to take in, huh? Sorry.

Oh, okay, uhh, thanks. So, umm, I guess the short version is, I'm looking for someone with a Ditto, so I can, uhh, start breeding Pokémon, that people might want.

[In the background, that bored-looking Gastly is being pestered by an angry-looking Krabby, while a Tauros looks on.]

Ditto?

Yeah, uhh, I haven't seen one, yet, but I've read about them, and heard people mention them. Apparently they can, uhh, breed with any Pokémon, male or female.

[That sounds kind of useful. :oa]

If you find one, I have a Larvitar. I don't know if anyone would want eggs from it, though.

You never know! I think, uhh, every Pokémon out there has something, that they can contribute. What, umm, type is it?

A troll?

Uhh, I think a Ditto is a Pokémon that can, umm, breed with any other one, no matter what species they are, or gender. I'm not sure, uhh, what it looks like, though.

And yeah, umm, before I came to Johto, I was a troll. Not, uhh, the kind with colorful hair, and no clothes, that Heather described, and that I'd never heard of, before. But the kind with gray skin and orange horns, that come from the planet Alternia.

I've never heard of a Ditto before.

Wow! You came from a different planet? That's so cool!

Yeah, I, uhh, don't think they're very common. I've gotten as far as, uhh, Violet City, and I haven't seen any, in the wild.

Uhh, gosh, thanks. [blushes just a little] It wasn't easy, living on Alternia, and I think this world is, umm, a lot nicer, in a lot of ways, but I still kind of miss it, sometimes.

[Reels at the first thing she sees being a Gastly in her face right in the camera. It's easier for her to simmer down of course at a "=|" Gastly than a usual Cheshire-faced one.]

How did you - how did you - how did you - how - how did you catch one of those? I - uh, whoa, I think I might've ran into one once - a - a wild one, m-more like it... uh... caught me completely off-guard and by the time... I... ...guess that's not really that interesting... But...

You're, uh... y-you're Tavros? The Tavros I kinda talked with a little bit a-a few weeks ago? I think maybe... uh... [Pokedex-handling break.] Umm... oh - cool! There are - or - there should be Ditto not too far from where I am - we're - uh - on the way to Goldenrod City - so I'll try to keep a-a... lookout for them and if we find one, I'll give you a call...? I - y-you know, if we catch it... and if you... haven't... already... found one by then...?

Oh, uhh, well, have you been to this place, near Violet City, that they call Sprout Tower? There are a lot of Gastlys in there, and they seem to be, umm, a lot less wild, than the wild ones. Which I guess, would make sense, when you think about it...

Yeah, that's me. You're, umm... Lammy, right? I remember. [He listens patiently until she gets to the end of the offer, and then...] Wow, really? That would be great! Thank you, very much! Uhh, is there any kind of Pokémon, that you would want, in return?

Uh - oh - th-there? Huh... I, uh, I've heard of it... from PokeGear messages and everything... I... I kinda had to move on as soon as I got to Violet a-and I didn't really think I would miss out on anything si-since I knew we really weren't ready for a Gym and I - I, um, guess I completely forgot about Sprout Tower...

[Too-tense-to-be-casual laugh.] That's my name!

Ah - umm... not... really, in particular, that I can think of... not that I still really know much about the different kinds... I, uh, guess we're gonna have to... make the transfer through a trade anyway, so, uh, I-I'm okay with anything you don't need... I guess if it makes any difference, all I've got right now are... Kaki - my - my Flaaffy, a Skiploom, a... he's a Beedrill now... and I p-pretty much just caught a Hoothoot... But - ah - anyway, I'm just glad I can help out! O-or try to. It's - it's - not like any trouble or anything and i-it sounds like breeders kinda need Dittoes, so... yeah. Guess I'll get looking soon!

Oh, well, uhh, there's not really that much in there, aside from the Gastlys, and, uhh, also, a lot of Rattatas. But it was interesting, to spend a day exploring in there. It reminded me of some of the adventuring, that I did in the Medium, back before I came here.

[listening as intently as he can] Oh, Kaki was your Mareep, right? So she, umm, evolved? Congratulations. I haven't heard of Skiplooms before, but I have seen Hoothoots late at night... And are Beedrills, uhh related to those Weedle bugs? Uhh, I'll think about it for a bit, and see if maybe I can find something, that would have a useful type for you.
