Hey, you all are kinda quiet over here.

Anyhoo, I have a question for you former AP Calc kids (Rachel, Travis...) Do you really use your old calc notebooks in college? It's such a pain to write all of Mrs. K's notes, but she always tells us, "All of my old students use their notebooks in college as a reference. You're really doing yourself a ( Read more... )

Hello hello --- Well first of all, I referred to my high school calc notebook maybe once throughout my whole calc II class in college. Everything we went over in calc II was new to me, so my h.s. notes were of little use... but it's still probably a good idea to just be all detailed and painstaking anyways, juuuust in case. If your college calc classes end up going over stuff we did in h.s., and you get stuck with a cruddy professor who can't explain the sttuff, then it will be handy just to have the high school notes so you can reteach yourself. Good luck with the math competition and the rest of senior year!

Hey, thanks, Travis!

We'll be thinking of you and Rachel and the rest of the gang when we're kicking DR and Sharon butt! (And stealing their cookies.)

I feel the same way as Travis - I used my notebook maybe once or twice all year for Calc 2. However, to give Mrs K the benefit of the doubt, people say that Calc 3 has a lot more in common with Calc 1 than Calc 2 does, so maybe I'll end up using the notes more for Calc 3. I'll let you know!

Good luck in math team! Are you guys in first?

Hey, Rachel!

I'm pretty sure we're first in our little "division" of teams that we compete against, but I think we're third in southeastern Massachusetts. Still pretty darn good! Although, it's a lot harder without you guys. :(
