I've given up plastic for Lent again.  And theorectically am blogging about it at http://givingupplastic.blogspot.com though as ever I seem to be a bit erratic in my blogging.

Anyway, today's post is all about straws.  Drinking straws that is.

If I were to give up plastic I would have to give up both frozen and fresh vegetables

Frozen I can understand. But fresh?

The only ones I can't buy are anything that comes wrapped in plastic. But most don't.

Onions, potatoes etc all get put into little plastic bags to be weighed. Cabbage and cauliflower don't need to, but all brassicas taste foul to me.

I get all my fruit and veg weighed loose.

Generally I shop at the greengrocer's or the market but even when I've bought fruit and veg at the supermarket I put them in my basket loose and the checkout person just picks them all up and weighs them. No-one's ever batted an eyelid or asked me to put them in a bag in future.
