As some of you have so subtly and politely pointed out, our activities are a bit out of date. We have of course excused the debate situation as our beloved debate master has been off in Europe for a bit, and as many of you know though quite a few don't seem to care that I had to take a little break because *gasp* school comes before livejournal. Ha ( Read more... )

I'm not loving the fact that the bad attitude of a few people (including one of the maintainers, and wtf at that... thanks!)

That wasn't appreciated. You could've told me something like that on AIM. Whatever though. We really need to update the activities more often and keep track of the links. I don't even know who our mods are for activities. Miranda could do some and since rachellynee voiced her opinion about the lack of activities maybe she'd like to give it a try.

Normally, I love those kind of opprotunities. However, quite honestly while you have been wonderful and friendly, I haven't felt very "welcomed" by this community. I had, what I consider, a legit question and did not mean to offend anyone. And me asking it (1) got me an answer and (2) brought attention to an area that needed it. But on the uncalled-for note, it also brought even more drama by means of this entire post.

It was her reply to my personal post that got to me. Not this one. This is just icing on the cake.

No, you were just posting out of curiosity. It added a little to the stress, but I know you meant well so I didn't take it that way at all. Don't worry about it babe.

Why the drama? Why so defensive? Seriously, I'm sure nobody meant to let activities go out of date, but if they are your responsibility, you don't need to lash out at everyone else because of it.

From the rules page:
4. All maintainers and officers must keep up with their tasks. If for any reason one cannot do their job, they should use their best judgement to decide whether they need temporary help from a maintainer or wish to give up their post. If something goes without being done for too long, the person will be contacted and if needed, replaced. This will not be a personal matter, it is simply a fact that such an active community needs frequent attention.

I had a right to ask. I'm sorry that it offended you, though I'm not sure why it did. Now that the problem has been adressed, can we all just move on?

It wasn't just you dear, don't make it a personal matter. This was hardly me lashing out, either. Ha.

I'm quite aware of the rule that I wrote myself, thank you. Being that you're a very new member, maybe you weren't around when I mentioned that I had midterms and spring break coming up, so I wouldn't be on much, and put myself under a semi-hiatus standing. Being that I'm a head maintainer, that might mean things go slow for a bit, but most other members seem to sympathize.

Under normal circumstances, this community is quite up to date. These are not normal circumstances, considering half the members and mods have been on vacation or in the middle of a shitload of school work. Please make sure you actually know what you're talking about next time you decide to bring an issue to the community. Thanks. By the way, none of that is personal. I'm just saying the community isn't usually too fond of complaining or drama.
