Give me your credit card horror stories, pls.

I bank with Washington Mutual and have exactly one credit card, which is through the bank. When they switched over to Chase, the interest rates sky rocketed to 30% APR. Way too much for just a regular credit card! (Or so I think. Maybe not ( Read more... )

Random passerby here! I wanted to chime in though - you can get frequent flier miles without an annual fee. It often takes excellent credit though. I have pretty decent credit, and was able to get a capital one card, which is one of the best frequent flier cards - you get a point or two per dollar I think, with no annual fees. BUT, even with really good credit, my limit on that card is 500 bucks. Also, I haven't had it very long, so I can't really comment on the quality...but it had good reviews all over the internet.

Anyway, if you want to be getting some kind of rewards, definitely look into it - you won't necessarily have to pay a yearly fee.

dunno much about credit cards, but I switched from WaMu to BECU and haven't looked back.

Credit Union cards aren't always better, since they just contract with Visa or whoever.
Capital One was always good to me-I don't know what their rates are like at the moment though.
