Also also: $2 chonies

I went shoe shopping during lunch today, so of course I came back with a soft grey poncho and handfuls of underoos. Urban Outfitters is clearing 'em out for $2 apiece and I got some rather lovely items.

Shoes, on the other hand: blargh. Elephant feet suck monkey balls.

I am afloat, but it's not over yet... I think I am making progress, but it's terrifying and this is the hardest thing I have EVER done. I'll make it out OK, though. :) Thank you so much for thinking about me, honey.

You're a brave girl and I like to know how kindred spirits are faring.

Here's my favorite Louisa May Alcott quote:
"I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship."

Sometimes I hold those words tight in my heart when my head says otherwise, or vice-versa.

I love that you've picked up on my Spanglish over the years. :)

Nordstrom Rack is awesome for elephant-footers.

Definitely, but I've also found that they tend to have a large selection of sandals and not much else. That was mainly what Nordstroms had on sale this time, too.

I've been grabbing almost all my from Buffalo Exchange over the last year--the shoes are always cool, but you can't pick the style and I needs me some ballet flats/low-heeled pumps for work. I am probably going to go the way of Emily & order 'em online, but ungh. I still don't like ordering clothes or shoes online because of all the fitting nuances and the hassle it can be to return stuff.

Rack stock changes seasonally as the mainline stores change their floor displays. If you need boots come back in the fall, obviously sandals are happening now, etc. I used to go there regularly when I worked downtown and it was amazing how different the stock was month to month.

I was very happy with my Zappos experience though it was a hassle shipping back and forth. It ended up that the best solution was going to someplace local to try stuff on then finding it online for less, or at least getting a clear idea of my size and fit requirements so I could buy the right thing.

Sage advice, sir--I'll start looking more often.
