QUIDDITCH ROUND ONE PLAYOFF SCHEDULE AND TICKETS ANNOUNCED!

It’s finally here! The Playoffs for the British and Irish Professional Quidditch League. Quidditch, the Sport of Warlocks, will be played in a winner take all round robin event between the best of the teams during the regular season. Mr. Rupert Blackthorn, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports announced the Official Schedule of the First Round of the Quidditch Playoffs today to at a press conference held at the Ministry of Magic. Minister of Magic, Rudiger Shingleton expressed his pleasure and support at the news. “This is great news for wizards and witches everywhere. I’m sure we’re all agreed that having professional quidditch back in play in the wizarding community is a welcome return to normalcy and demonstrates the hard work and concerted efforts of many members of the Magical Games and Sports Department. The Ministry of Magic is at daily toil working for the good of our community.”
Once again the Sports desk of The Daily Prophet has been besieged by requests, well actually more like threats, for tickets for the Playoffs, schedules, and autographs from favourite players, including potential team member and the community’s most eligible bachelor and All Around Saviour, Harry Potter. Witches (and Warlocks!) are advised that this office will not be giving out Mr. Potter’s Floo address, nor will Floo addresses and photos be forwarded to The Boy Who Lived to Possibly Play Quidditch. These will, however, be personally reviewed and kept on file by “Pitch” for future reference. This office is pleased to accommodate all the Quidditch fans in our community with complete details of the Quidditch Playoffs in this special extra section of The Daily Prophet which is devoted entirely to Quidditch. Aren’t we all?!
As usual, in compliance with the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, games will be scheduled during times least attractive to muggles. As with the regular season, all Playoff games will be played during the afternoon. This year’s Playoffs series will be five games, played on successive afternoons on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All games are scheduled to start promptly at 1:00 P.M. in the afternoon. Witches and wizards are reminded that games will not be restarted for latecomers.
The Daily Prophet will continue its award-wining Quidditch reporting for the Playoffs. Each Saturday, readers will find the standing and point totals for their Playoff teams, along with “Reports from the Pitch” by our own “Pitch” Malbum. It’s another round of Playoffs as only the Prophet can report it!
Season tickets holders will be given first choice to retain their seats for the Playoff games, with season ticket holders for the teams not in the Playoffs next in line for choice seats. As with the regular season tickets, each ticket includes access to a specially charmed portkey for safe arrival and departure to all games from the ticket holder’s preferred co-ordinates. Through special arrangements between Q.U.A.C.K. and The Daily Prophet, Playoff tickets may be purchased simply by replying to this special section of the Daily Prophet. Purchasers need only indicate which Playoff Series or matches they wish to attend, the number of tickets and the level of view. Arrangements for the portkey will be forthcoming directly from the MoM.
