BOOK SIGNING A FABULOUS SUCCESS
Lucius Malfoy Gave Proceeds of Sales to Cover Damages Caused by Earlier Vandalism!
by Janice McLaughlin

In a display of generosity which is familiar from such a magnanimous family as the Malfoys, Lucius Malfoy, himself, donated all the funds to cover for damages caused to the charming bookshop less than a week before.

Trésor Littéraire is a quaint little shop run by a beautiful frenchwoman, which only recently opened after the end of the war. The book-signing has been in negotiations almost since the book was published earlier this summer, and has now finally taken place.

Lucius Malfoy was implicated in Death Eater activity in both wars, and even spent a considerable amount of time in Azkaban in 1996 to 1997 for a conviction related to those activities. It was only after the war was over that we of the general populace were to learn of the heroism and bravery of this generous man.

Not only his reputation and his fortune were on the line, but the lives of himself and his beloved wife and son were also at risk as he walked his dangerous line of spying and intrigue. The book is a heart-wrenching tale of regret and remorse. Many times, Malfoy was forced to witness atrocities which could not be prevented without destroying his concealment and robbing the Ministry of valuable, much-needed information during the war. Even to the horrific extent of knowing his own son was in Death Eater captivity, often used as a pawn by which to ensure Lucius' obedience.

Such trials would be beyond endurance for a lesser man, yet Mr Malfoy was able to bear them with a stoic sense of duty and responsibility to the Wizarding World at large, willing to sacrifice anything for the eventual defeat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Our world owes him a very great debt of gratitude, at the very least.

The trials in no way diminished the stately grace and aristocratic air which Mr Malfoy exudes, even while being the very essence of warm friendliness to all who came for the signing. He even exchanged a warm greeting with Professor Severus Snape, who came away from his obligations and duties at Hogwarts to pay his respects. It is not surprising that Mr Malfoy seemed to regard the Potions Master with no small amount of distrust, and considering their history it is no wonder. Snape, too, was pardoned under the claim of having been a 'spy', but as it was his own wand which murdered Albus Dumbledore, among many other known crimes, it is impossible to make suppositions about that gentleman's true motivations.

As one might expect, Mr Malfoy's beautiful wife was at his side for the event, and also had warm smiles and gracious greetings to offer the guests.

Several Aurors were stationed around the event for security, and we were able to get an official statement in regards to general security and progress in the Leaky Cauldron investigation.

"The Wizengamot will be voting later next week on measures to tighten Registry restrictions at the discretion of the Minister for Magic and the Head of the Aurors. People realise not all the people and dark-creatures on the Registry are a danger, but clearly there are some who are more questionable than others."

Here, the gentleman, who asked not to be named, paused, his gaze resting significantly on one of the individuals in the shop at the time.

"The Ministry feels it needs more reliable methods for surveillance in some cases."

The Daily Prophet will, of course, keep our readers appraised of any new development in the situation.

If you have not read Mr Malfoy's delightful book, you are highly encouraged to do so.
