Bonding Reception
Date: Saturday, 5 April, 2002
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Place: King's Road Inn, Scotland
Characters Involved: Remus Lupin, Severus Snape, and invited guests
Rating: G - it's a wedding, folks. Hankies optional for the tearfully sentimental.
The Inn's staff worked to convert the ceremony space into dining and dancing space for the reception as Remus and Severus moved to one side entrance to receive their guests. A small table stood to one side for those who might wish to leave cards or small gifts, the men of honor standing side by side a short distance away.
Remus had not let go of his mate's, his husband's, hand since they were first joined. It felt too unreal. They had made it. Bonded. And now all they had to do was live their lives together until the end of their days. Dreams didn't come true for either of them. Yet this one had and it was an effort not to pinch himself to confirm his own wakefulness.
Which wasn't to say that joined life would be perfect. It was still a dangerous world they lived in, as evidenced by the need for security and wardings at this event. Severus' ingrained paranoia had led the man to spend several hours that morning erecting recognition wards and other precautions against uninvited guests making an unwanted appearance. For once, Remus was more than willing to indulge such fears.
None of this diminished the huge grin with which he greeted each individual as they approached, however. Nothing was going to stop that for quite some time.
He'd found and won his Prince Charming, who would be there when the nightmares disrupted the dream. What more did happiness require?
