Moving Out

Characters: Katie Weasley
Date: April 24th
Time: Early morning
Location: St Mungo's

It had been over a month since she had woken up and nearly two since her injury. She had been working with the doctors at St. Mungo's to try to find someway to get her memory back, but so far, it had been nothing. She remembered things from before very well. Her physician had asked her about her home life, how things were going with her husband and she had been honest. It was damn hard. She didn't remember her husband. She didn't like sleeping in a bed every night with a man she didn't remember marrying.

On the advice of her doctors, she had moved back into the school. There Madam Pomfrey could oversee her care and also, it would give her a less stressful environment. On top of that, she had received notification that she did still in fact have her job as a coach, though her record had not been as steller as she had hoped it would be.

It had been hard to explain to Charlie, but in the end, it was the best thing. She told him that she needed the time to sort out her head. She and Conchobar had moved back into Hogwarts and she'd settled into a routine over the last week that was a lot less stressful, but still lonely. The students were there and the friends she had made on the staff, but it was somewhat less lonely then a home with a man in her bed that she didn't remember.

She hated hurting him, but she didn't have a choice, she had to be selfish in this time. She had to get herself better or she'd never be the woman he wanted. She wasn't sure she ever would be again. Ron had told her that they'd been discussing children and she wasn't sure that she could deal with the idea of that now. She hadn't even slept with him since she'd come out of her deep sleep. She tucked her legs up underneath of her as she settled on the couch, Conchobar flopping down under where her feet should go.

Katie was a strong woman, she could do this. She could fix herself and get better. She could. She had to get better. She had to figure out her place in the world. She bit her lower lip and sighed, "Well Conchobar, there are plays to plan and maybe dinner? What do you think about steak tonight, old boy?" she asked.

Not like the dog was going to answer her, but she didn't care, she just got to work. That was all she could do.
