7 - [Text] The phoenix compiles a beastiary, does that mean he should be in it too?

Feb 08, 2011 18:45

I'm attempting to compile a list of the monsters and/or natural creatures of this place. Thus to anyone who's fought some of the monsters or can offer information about them, I'd appreciate whatever you can share. Then we can keep the notebook in the library for anyone else stuck here later on.

Helpful form though not necessary to use:

monster encyclopedia, fishmen, monster hunting later, monsters, beastiary, namur, ace

Name of monster type (if known): Chocobo
Description of monster: A giant bird, more or less. A bit taller than an average human. All the ones I've seen have had yellow feathers, so any other types are currently unknown. (http://i.imgur.com/LIctC.png)
Where the monster was found or tends to be: They're rarely seen around the city itself, though I've come across a few in the forest. Even then they're uncommon.
What it eats: Greens, mostly. They've been adapting to the feed in the barn as well. This will be further researched once spring arrives.
Is it edible itself? I couldn't see why not.
What world/region it comes from before Discedo: Unknown
Danger level: They're usually skittish and avoid any kind of confrontation, having the tendency to follow other monsters around as a source of protection. However, they're relatively docile once they've been captured.
Anything else to consider? They're more useful as a source of transportation, so I discourage killing/eating it if you ( ... )

Not completely sure. I know that it can be sailed to the other side and that there are other cities and towns over there, but usually the barrier is in the way.

Name of monster type (if known): Prinny
Description of monster: [Picture] A Prinny resembles a small, usually blue, pouch-wearing penguin with disproportionately small bat wings and two peg legs where feet would normally be.
Where the monster was found or tends to be: I've seen in the shopping district before, hanging out in the abandoned stores and a few other places. Sometimes they come a little closer to the residential district too. Though, I don't think there are many that go near the forest. At least I haven't seen any around there before...
What it eats: The Prinnies seem to like fish most of all, but they'll eat anything else that is edible to humans.
Is it edible itself? Goodness no! A soul is supposed to be sewn into the body of a Prinny, and it's very unstable besides!
What world/region it comes from before Discedo: The Prinnies can be found in the Netherworld or Celestia, but I think that the ones here are only from the Netherworld.
Danger level: Well... I don't think that the Prinnies are particularly dangerous. They ( ... )

Oh! I think that I can tell you a little about the Ghosts too! But is it okay if I take some time to investigate some more first?

I want to do this properly.
