Beaky might be the only one to answer but I was wondering if any of you could give me fantasy book suggestions. I don't know why but I'm a bit tired of reading so much SF, stories get repetitive after a while and since I barely have any fantasy I'd thought I'd give it a try. So...any good series out there ( Read more... )

Unfortunately it's been a while since I read anything new. Eric recommends stuff to me all the time, but he hasn't mentioned anything extra interesting lately. The latest fantasy series I've been reading, I already recommended once, and I think you should definately think about getting it. G.R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. The first book is called A Game of Thrones. It's mideival fantasy, and though the fantasy part is isn't as glaringly obvious at the beginning, there are dragons and other creatures eventually. Just don't get attached to any character, if you read it. :-P ( ... )

Need a fantasy recommendation?

Here's one that I am very in love with:

The Troy Game Series by Sara Douglass; It consists of four books:

1. Hades' Daughter
2. God's Concubine
3. Darkwitch Rising
4. Druid's Sword

They are not as black and bleak as it sounds; they are actually very light. They are good reads though and it leaves you with hunger pangs for more at the end of each book. Especially by the fourth book, you want to know what happens with the characters.

Other Fantasy Novels I've enjoyed are as follows:

Anne Marston: Rune Blade Trilogy
and
Tom Holt: He is sooo good! He makes satires of well known literature and fairy tales.

Anyway, let me know what you think.
