That sounds like an excellent day! I'm jealous!
I didn't know Cabin was a Joss film. I have to be careful with my horror (some of that shit can fuck me up bad), but I'm usually okay with anything he does...

I don't know what sort of triggers you have, but if you look at this from the standpoint of an analysis of horror tropes (a la Scream) with an intriguing perspective and refreshing interpretation, I view it more as a film and less of a horror film, if you know what I mean. Well, to give you an idea, I can handle horror if the actual violence is tame, and the jumping moments are suspense. In other words, I'm good with movies like the Ring, Exorcist, Psycho, Scream, etc.
Hostel or Saw...no. And for some reason, Final Destination freaks me out- I think the idea of being absolutely unable to cheat death...
Although Walking Dead and SPN and Grimm have done a lot towards helping with with gore, I still don't want to see a movie revolving around it...

"Cabin" is not a ghost story, I can tell you that much. There were indeed ghost-type things, but only as...cameos, I guess you could say. The movie that might have messed you up on that score was Daniel Radcliffe's flick "The Woman In Black". If you're truly scared of ghost stories, don't see that. But I really think you'd be okay with "Cabin In the Woods".
