“Ne Keito~” the small little boy cooed to his playmate.
“Hmm?” the other boy was trying to focus on building up his small castle with the sand in his hands.
“Do you think we will fall in love with someone special like those fairytale story sensei would usually tell us about?”
The boy stopped what he was doing and stared at his friend. He just blinked and continued staring before turning back to his task.
“I think Yuto will surely have that kind of relationship in future” Keito replied. “I’m not sure if I will though”
“Eh? Nande?” Yuto was surprised. “I think Keito would be the most awesome boyfriend!”
A blush crept onto his cheeks and his heart went doki-doki as heard the remark. Yuto smiled widely as he continued.
“Keito is very cute. I bet when you grow up you will be a super cool guy that many girls would love” Yuto hugged Keito tightly. “Of course. I will be the closest person to Keito because we will be the bestest bestfriend in world”
The sand in Keito’s hand dropped entirely and he tried to hide his blushing face from Yuto by turning the other way.
“Mou~ Yamete yo~” Keito tried to move away as he felt his heart was beating too fast.
“Iiyada~” Yuto pouted and tighten his gripped. “I don’t wanna~”
“Yuto…” Keito sighed. “Fine”
“Yay!!” Yuto giggled. “Keito will always be Yuto’s. Now and forever Yutorin’s”
As years past by, both of them still stick strongly together. They go to school together, have the same class, have breaks together, have the same after school activities and go home together. They were inseparable in everybody’s eyes.
Of course being inseparable doesn’t mean that they were always in their own world. They do socialize with others. Keito was known to be a gentleman in everyone’s eyes. Although he’s an introvert, he does his best to mix around with others. He wouldn’t be able to do so without his best friend, Yuto.
Yuto is known to be very mischievous and a very outgoing guy. With all the random stunts he pulls on his friends, they wonder sometimes how he could still stay at the top position when it comes to exams. However, they know the answer better that it’s always because of Keito who would have lessons for Yuto right before the final exams.
“Yuto-kun! Will you go out with me?” a sudden confession.
“I’m really sorry.” Yuto pat the girls head. “I’ve already have someone in my heart.
“Hontou?” the girl was surprised.
“Uhm. The person doesn’t know yet so…” Yuto winked at her. “It’s a secret between you and me. Alright?”
The girl eyes widen. “Uhm! I won’t tell anyone.”
“Arigatou ne” Yuto gave his signature smile. “I hope you will find your special someone one day”
“Arigatou Yuto-kun” the girl shyly bowed. “Jaa… I guess I should be going now”
As the girl walked away and disappeared behind the walls, “Keito… You can come out now…”
“I’m not here!” a voice answered behind the bushes.
Yuto laughed at Keito’s silliness and went over to join him behind the bushes. Yuto squatted in front of Keito and looked at the other while smiling widely. The latters cheeks was tinted with a bit of red and he was looking down on the ground.
“If I don’t know any better, I would say that my dear bestfriend is spying on me” Yuto continued staring at Keito.
“I-I’m not!” Keito looked away puffing his cheeks avoiding any eye contact with Yuto.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would say that you are jealous that someone confessed to me,” Yuto poked his cheeks.
“Mou~ I-I’m not jea-jealous!” Keito pouted and looked at Yuto.
Keito wasn’t expecting Yuto to lean in and kissed his lips. He was still in shock when Yuto pulled apart from him. Keito blinked for a moment to process what was happening.
“It’s kinda awkward when you’re kissing someone but the person’s eyes are wide open” Yuto remarked.
Keito continued blinking and slapped himself once. “Ittai…”
Yuto eyes widen before he fell back laughing, clutching to his stomach. By then, Keito realize everything was really happening. It wasn't a dream. He went back to look at Yuto who was still laughing. Keito pouted at Yuto.
“Not funny…” Keito puffed.
“Gomen. Gomen” Yuto sat back up and looked at Keito. “You’re just too cute”
“Ne… Can we try that again?” Keito softly asked blushing.
Yuto stopped giggling and looked at Keito. There was only silence as Yuto stared at Keito while the other looked at the ground. Feeling the tension in the atmosphere, Keito thought Yuto was just playing with his feelings.
Tears was glistening his brown orbs as he thought his unrequited feelings towards the lanky guy would never be answered back. They never actually did tell each other about how they feel scared of the probability of losing someone important to them.
“Forget what I asked” Keito whispered. “Let’s act like nothing happen”
Keito stood up and wiped away the tears that were about to fall. He was about to take another step when he felt a hand holding onto his wrist preventing him. He looked at Yuto who was still sitting on the ground looking at the space sat at a moment ago.
“Is that it?” Yuto asked not looking at Keito.
“W-what?” Keito felt nervous. “What do you mean?”
“Is that all you’re gonna do?” Yuto turned and stared at Keito directly in the eyes. “You’re just gonna walk away from me?”
“W-wha...?”
“Are you going to give up just because I didn’t answer you?” Yuto cut Keito and tighten his grip on Keito’s wrist.
“I-itai… Yuto...” Keito tried to pry Yuto’s hands off. “Yamete yo…”
“Iiyada!” Yuto exclaimed. “I don’t wanna!”
Keito was taken aback by Yuto’s sudden behavior. He felt the familiar feeling he had when they were six; the feelings that he held strongly to his heart ever since that day.
“Yuto…”Keito whispered. “Yutorin…”
Keito felt the gripped loosen on his wrist. He slowly squatted next to Yuto and pulled him into a warm embrace.
“I’m sorry…” Yuto said softly.
“It’s not your fault. I should be the one to say sorry” Keito tighten his hug.
Keito let go of the hug and look at Yuto before he pressed his lips against the others. Yuto eyes widened in shocked at Keito’s action. Keito pulled away for a brief moment.
“It’s kinda awkward when you’re kissing someone but the person’s are wide open” Keito smirked before pressing his lips again on Yuto’s.
Yuto smiled into the kiss as he closed his eyes and enjoyed the moment. As they pulled out for breathe, Yuto smiled widely at Keito before pulling him into a tight hug burying his face into Keito’s neck.
“Mou~ Yamete yo~” Keito giggled at Yuto’s action.
“Iiyada~” Yuto pouted and tighten his gripped. “I don’t wanna~”
“Yuto…” Keito sighed. “Fine”
“Yay!!” Yuto giggled. “Keito will always be Yuto’s. Now and forever Yutorin’s”
“Uhm…”Keito hugged him back. “Yuto will always be Keito’s too. Now and forever Keito’s”
