Since I hadn't really seen you say much about Glee one way or the other, I really didn't think this would be the prompt you would pick, but I'd glad you did! I think you pulled out a really good Rachel in this. I certainly enjoyed her. ^_^ Granted, it felt more like a Glee fic with cameos from the Hikago cast than the other way around, but I think I had that in mind somehow when I requested it because my ficcin' heart has been stolen by Glee lately. I think you found a way to make this work without being too horribly unbelieveable. Thank you!

Also, let me know if you see any formatting errors. There were a few with the italics where they didn't seem to have end tags, so I'm not entirely certain I inserted them in the right spot.

I am, of course, so happy you liked it :)

I wrote a Glee fic with cameos from the Hikago cast because I feel like any crossover between them is necessarily going to involve PATHS TO ENLIGHTENMENT, and it's way easier for me to conceive of the hand of god enlightening Rachel than it is Rachel's drive to perform enlightening any of the Go kids. I'm glad you didn't find it horribly unbelievable. I had a good time writing it. Happy Fifthmus!

(Deleted earlier comment and reposted, since I forgot that this was for a gift exchange. Excuse my manners!)

Was hesitant to read this because I've been feeling disillusioned with Glee for a while now but this was fun! I like that Rachel is both obnoxious and sincere, and you got her character voice down completely. (Oh, Rachel, you theater geek with your twenty remixes of "Defying Gravity"! XD) Having her outsider perspective on the go world was refreshing as well.

This comment is so late, I apologize! You don't have to feel sheepish about leaving con-crit. I appreciate that you'd want to be polite for the sake of a gift exchange, though, because it annoys me so much when I see people leaving negative comments for other writers. I didn't think your initial comment was impolite though! I really should have known that English was an official language of Singapore. It's completely my fault and my mistake that I didn't think to double-check that. I'm glad it didn't affect your opinion of the story. It was fun to write and I was glad that I got to play around with Rachel, in all her irritating, obnoxious cheer.

Thanks for reading and for taking the time to tell me you liked it.

This is a bit late, but I just want to recorrect. It's true that English is the official language of Singapore, but it doesn't mean that all Singaporeans speak English. There are quite a number of people only fluent in Mandarin, or Hokkien, or Cantonese due to the country's multi-racial nature. So I guess your error is forgivable after all.

Anyway, this is awesome. I cracked up when Rachel mentioned her two gay dads. It's both ridiculous and inappropriate and yet so very true at the same time <33

ahhh, here's another comment i missed, i'm so sorry! thank you for the correction--I'm relieved to know that I didn't make a total flub, but I will definitely do more research the next time I write a fic set in another country.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. :) Rachel was a ton of fun to write.

Finally getting around to reading fifthmus.. flonnebonne January 12 2010, 03:31:16 UTC
I've never seen Glee, but this was full of glee for me! I loved Waya's last line.

Lolz, this reminds me of the time I saw a preview of Wicked at Universal Studios Osaka. Glinda was a Japanese woman in a wig, Elpheba was a Caucasian woman (but green), and almost everything was sung in Japanese, to my confusement. Good times.

Haha, wow. I can't imagine seeing a show as over-the-top as Wicked being done in Japan. Thank you for reading! I'm glad you liked this little piece. It was silly but fun!

Oh, this is so awesome (and ridiculous) and awesome (yet totally ridiculous)
It totally made my day. Not only is Rachel wandering around generating gay love in Tokyo fairly marvelous in itself but the way it all ends like a proper musical (filled with more fluff than is almost bearable and a song *g*) is adorable.
Plus, GLEE/HIKARU NO GO. There are no words for this really :D It now suddenly seems infecting other fadoms with Rachel being her...own little self in the only way she knows how, talking about her gay dad's is the best idea ever...
