TITLE: So this is Sai AUTHOR: issen4 RECIPIENT: penguin474, requests PAIRING: none WARNINGS: General SUMMARY: Ogata finally meets Sai in the flesh NOTES: none
You made my day! XD I love you I love you I love you~ <3 <3 <3 *is grinning and giggling incoherently at the moment*
Thank you for writing this! It's good to have Sai back--no matter how awkward the situation is. Yay for screwed up!Ogata! Even so, I like the way you depict him being a keen observer. And not to mention that the whole Sai and Hikaru's interactions are. made. of. pure. LOVE! XD XD
So once again, thank you for making my day brighter!
Thank you very much for your compliments! I'm glad you liked this. Sai is so much fun to write, especially when seen through Ogata's eyes, who always prides himself on his dignity, heh.
Oh, what a lovely thing to come back to after the holidays! I love this, so much I wish the story was ten times longer so I could go on reading. Love Sai and his childish enthusiasm, and the way Ogata has to swallow audibly... and Sai's expression changing to show the truly dangerous player he is. the expression in his eyes suddenly seemed a thousand years old - this made me (as well as Ogata) shiver. Thank you so much for writing this gorgeous ficlet for my prompt!
You're welcome! I'm happy (and relieved) that you liked this. It was your prompt that gave me the inspiration, so I should say thank you instead. ^___^ I've discovered that a happy Sai is a lot of fun to write!
I thought this contained a lovely series of mini ten-years-on character sketches, as the nonplussed cast meet Sai who already knows them. Sai and Hikaru the same age is fun to imagine (Sai younger than Hikaru would also be interesting).
"I want to play with him now. Can I?" Shindou's eyes widened for a moment, then he smiled at Fujiwara. "I told you, you don't have to ask me."
I liked this reference to their former relationship, where Sai was dependent on Hikaru for opportunities to play go. It also shows his unfamiliarity with his new-found autonomy.
Hikaru too shows signs of considering Sai and himself to still be as one "Do you want to play now or not? Because if not then we'll have to go all the way to Ogata's place..."
But then, that part is also delightfully ambiguous :)
