Oooh I LOVE Dumas. I've read 'The Three Musketeers' about...300 times at least. I've looked everywhere for the sequels, but the only one I've found is 'The Man in the Iron Mask'. I read an abridged version of Count a long time ago, and loved it as well :)

we did this HUGE study on Johnny Tremain in 7th grade. i've loved the book ever since :o)

also, have you ever read Stephen R. Lawhead? i have books by him that i've read through *at least* 20 times. the Pendragon Cycle (they're king arthur books lol) - i own Taliesin and Arthur. i want to get the rest lol

I really enjoyed Crime and Punishment. War and Peace is interesting, but a hard slog. Or, if you want something completely different, looks for The Well At The World's End by a fellow called William Morris. It's proto-fantasy, written in the 1890s.

Already read Crime and Punishment, haven't tried War and Peace (seems daunting!), and also, those are 20th Century so don't count ;)

I'll look out for the Morris, though!
