Steps to changing my life

Most of the hobbies I take up only last weeks or months at most.  The two main exceptions have been horseback riding which lasted over 12 years, and playing poker which has lasted at least eight.  In the past few months though I have been playing less and less, and in the past three weeks I have only played for 3 1/2 hours this past Friday night.   ( Read more... )

cool bike! and yay for new hobbies! cleaning out things always feels soooo good to me, but it's also so time consuming. i have an entire study that's full of boxes that i need to go through and downsize before i go to seattle. one box at a time of course, but man is it taking me forever. i know i have a lot of christmas stuff and i don't really know what to do with a lot of it. i mean, i shared a life with someone for 9 years and i just feel like if i put up the same ornaments in a new environment, it'll still be "our" tree. but it also seems sad and wasteful to just throw it out/donate it only to buy new ornaments and stuff. ugh, anyway. off topic, lol.

congrats on the new bike! it's pretty! (if i can say that about a bike; perhaps "hot" is a better description, lol)

How about "studly"? Hmm, on second thought, I'll accept "hot" as long as it's not Paris Hilton's version of hot :). Or "spiffy" - I like that word.

I was keeping stuff in my garage that was either leftover materials from old projects or things I had collected for possible future projects. All the stuff I had not touched in over five years I decided was never going to be touched again anyway, so out it went.

I have a whole wall of a spare bedroom with a three piece bookshelf filled with books. Now that I have a Kindle I almost never buy physical books anymore, so I don't have the need to pare down my collection anymore.
