Despite the snap cold front (it was less than 40 degrees by 10am) I braved a drive over to my parents.  My hands were the only parts of my body that got cold.  All went well except for missing one turn (not used to going the non-beltway route to their house), but that just ended up with me taking an even more scenic route.  They were suitably

Yup. I thought about buying used, but as a complete novice rider, my riding skill/experience was zero so I would not have been able to properly test drive it to check for problems (not to mention scaring the current owner with my herky-jerky start/stops :).
