I'm giving everyone a waring tonight. If Crystal ever suggests a book for you to read, turn around and run the other way. I am currently borrowing House of Leaves, and it is perhaps the most disturbing book I have ever read, especially since I am reading it along witht the cd Haunted by Poe. It was total reverse psychology and you know it! Put up a big DO NOT TOUCH sign and you just want to touch it all the more. Hmph. I blame you for my weak will. I don't know why, but it just makes sense.

My niece just finished reading it and told me I HAVE to get it along with Poe's CD. I managed to hear some of Poe's CD this evening. I had no idea Poe's brother was a writer. I glanced at the book also...looks slighty off center ;)

It's a good book and it is definitely enhanced when reading it with the music, but take the advice crystal gave me. Don't read it alone at night with the music. You start hearing things that aren't really there.

Cj and I read House of Leaves and listened to the CD when we were in Berkov's "Inner Space" class in CCS. Was quite creepy... I couldn't even finish it or read it all the way through, cause it just seemed like the book kept getting bigger... it was like it was growing. And when we all brought our books to class, EVERY book was different. Even within one edition or year of the book.

freak me out, man.

I know. It's really weird how truth and lies are twisted in this book so that you just can't figure out if something is true, false, or maybe a little of both. But I am determined to finish this book, even if it does warp me permanently.
