I'm Finally back and have an important announcment.

Hey everyone, finally got my LJ working, not sure what was wrong with it but I'm now albe to log in again. YAY, Yet with as busy as I am at the studio and with conventions I probably won't be able to get on as much as I would like

I'm betting things are only going to get more and more restrictive online, but in the meantime, it's a shame that so many industries have to suffer because of people's complete lack of ethics.

I've encountered this with graphic design - how many "designers" are able to undercut and hedge out the legitimate competition because they are using illegally copied software and art.

And my karaoke biz - how much of the competition download their music while we pay an average of $3/song (for tens of thousands of songs). Sure, the downloads have a crappy bit rate, but the consumers don't even seem to care as long as they have the song they want to sing.

And finally - in my costume business. How much of my competition uses commercial patterns clearly copyrighted and labeled "for individual home use only". It's really hard to run a legit business when the illegal competition goes unpunished.

Our society has no regard for quality, craftmanship or ethics as long as they get what they want for free.

I'm doing my part. I've reposted to as many forums as I can, as well as my own personal journal. Hopefully we'll start getting through the thick skulls of these fanboys.^_^

i hear ya.
it really is a shame that people don't start realizing it until it get too late, and then they complain that the dvd's aren't coming out and blame it on the companies, when in fact they were the ones who are part of that problem... etc. etc. etc.

arugh. it's frustrating.
BUT! it was awesome seeing you last weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hopefully we'll see you around sometime soon.
