1 In Japan, the size of a room is typically measured by the number of tatami mats. More information here ^^
2 A futon is a flat mattress with a fabric exterior stuffed with cotton, wool, or synthetic batting that makes up a Japanese bed.
3 Gaijin practically means foreigner. But written or spoken as gaijin is mostly an insult. The correct word and more appropriate is gaigokujin or gaikokujin.
4 The translation is ‘At Yamaguchi’s’. Forgot to tell, in the prologue when Kazu's POV ends it's written 'Pentru ca te iubesc' - this means the same thing as Aishiteiru Kara/Because I love you, just that it's in Romanian ^^
5 Shōchū is a distilled beverage native to Japan. It is most commonly distilled from barley, sweet potatoes, or rice. To not be confused with sake which is a rice wine and shōchū is more powerful. It can be equivalent with vodka. More information here ^^
6 In Japanese, there isn’t the sound L, but R. Usually, they don’t pronounce an open L but more of open-closed R. That’s why Kazuya doesn’t say Micaela, but Micaera. Another example would be love = rabu.
