And Crossing Worlds collects the Planetary/Authority, Planetary/JLA and Planetary/Batman crossovers from the post-Fourth Man era.
Which is nice, because Planetary/Batman is a damn sight hard to find these days. If you haven't read it, it's one of the finest, funniest things to ever see the light of day.
Planetary is now shifting to a regular quarterly schedule, since Cassady is now off Captain America (and only doing X-Men now, afaik) and Ellis has gotten off his ass.

Buy Ultimate Spiderman Vol 1: Power and Responsibility, and The Ultimates Volume One, and Ultimate X-Men Vol 1: The Tomorrow People. Those are all excellent starting points.
Then we can ween you onto New X-Men, Superman: Red Son, and the Superman Birthright relaunch that's getting ready to start. OH! And a brand new X-Men #1 is coming, Astonishing X-Men, hits in May.
Seriously. Mainstream comics are kicking ass right now.

s Kyle Rayner still Green Lantern? Does Sara Pezzini still have the Witchblade?
Why are Cyclops and Jean Grey divorced?
Did Cable ever get rid of his Techno-Virus and has he realized the full potential of his Powers yet?
How did Gambit become Team Leader?
What happened to the Mutants in Generation X? M/Johnathon Starsmore/Husk etc.
Is Cannonball still leading X-Force?
Wow, I miss the times. :(
