Stocking’s main sin is gluttony, as she is often seen consuming sweets. She also has the ability to transform stockings into swords, hence her name.
In the beginning of the series, Stocking and Panty go around defeating ghosts in all sorts of places. One of them in particular, a ghost in the form of Queen Barbie, lands them in a local high school. While they are told to lie low until they can find the ghost, they waste no time in making their presence and identities known, and both quickly become the new queens of the school. However, this doesn’t stop the two of them from skipping classes a lot, although Stocking seems to care a bit more about school than Panty does.
In one episode, a ghost creates specialized sweets that will turn everyone in the city obese. Stocking unfortunately consumes these sweets, causing her to lose her perfect figure and gain wait. She begins dieting and exercising like crazy, fully set on getting her perfect body back. However, this doesn’t happen, and so she snaps and gorges herself on ghost-made sweets. She grows into a huge fat blob and stretches her socks out to the point where her swords are useless, but when Panty defeats the ghost, Stocking returns to normal and continues eating sweets.
At another point, Panty takes Stocking out to scan for guys that she can sleep with. Stocking turns down all suggestions, stating that Panty has bad taste, only to fall in love with someone unexpected; a ghost. This ghost is so hideous and repulsive in its looks and personality that no one can understand why Stocking fell for him in the first place. However, she still becomes the perfect girlfriend, buying him things, going places with him, and even picking the perfect outfit to wear on their dates. She falls so madly in love that she ends up rejecting her duties as an angel in order to run away with him. Panty goes to try and stop them, but the ghost still proposes to Stocking, which she accepts. Unfortunately, this causes the ghost to disappear, as his regret in life that turned him into a ghost has been fulfilled, and Stocking is left alone with her ring. The next day, everything goes back to normal, although she keeps the ring in her room with her stuffed animals.
Because they are away from school for so long, Panty and Stocking are replaced as their high school’s queens by the two demons Scanty and Kneesocks. These demons have the same abilities as the angel sisters, and so Kneesocks is Stocking’s arch enemy. They completely blow up their school fighting one another, although it is ultimately Panty and Stocking who prevail. Feuds between the angels and demons pop up every so often, including at the beach, the casino, and during a zombie apocalypse. Panty and Stocking always triumph over them, although the demons always manage to escape afterward.
As the series progresses, more and more fucked up things happen to the sisters. They are transformed into Transformers robots and try to destroy one another; they almost start in a movie together, although Panty cuts Stocking out, resulting in Stocking posting pornographic videos of her sister up on Youtube; Stocking explodes because Panty ate her pudding and reveals her love of being tied up and squeezed; Stocking gets thrown into the moon’s nose and ends up dangling from its booger; the two get turned into zombies, and so on and so forth. Long story short, they get into some pretty messed up situations together, and yet not a whole lot seems to surprise them.
At the very end of the series, the sisters collect enough Heaven Coins to be allowed back into Heaven. However, Stocking is the only one who goes, since she was the one who did most of the work. This causes Panty to have to fight Scanty, Kneesocks, and Corset all on her own. During the battle, though, Stocking returns in order to help her sister out, even assisting in Brief breaking Panty’s hymen. The two of them together defeat Corset and save the city. And then…Gainax trolls the whole fucking world and has Stocking cut her sister up into 666 pieces. Stocking reveals that she is actually a demon, and leaves with the revived Corset back to the opening of Hell’s Gate.

There are multiple reasons why Stocking was kicked out of heaven. Her main characteristic is her love of sweets, which is the main focus of her life. She is always either eating or looking for new types of treats to eat. Or both. Anyone who gets between her and her sweets quickly suffer Stocking’s wrath, and boy does she have a lot of it when sugar is involved. Stocking will literally blow the fuck up and get into major feuds with anyone she suspects to have eaten her precious treats, and she has been seen to beat the shit out of Chuck and Panty whenever they do so. However, when her treats are back in her possession, Stocking turns into a bright, giggling girl.
Another bad point about Stocking is her laziness and general uncaring nature towards other people. Granted, she is less lazy than her sister, since she was the one who collected the most Heaven Coins throughout the series. However, she’ll really only try her hardest when there’s something to gain from it, like when Panty promises to buy her sweets for an entire month. As shown with her interactions with Brief, Chuck, and Garterbelt, Stocking doesn’t show much affection for anyone other than herself, that one ghost guy, and occasionally Panty. For example, she never goes to help Brief when he’s in trouble, even when he’s about to be killed and run over with a car. She always beats up Chuck whenever he goes for her sweets, and when Garterbelt dies, her immediate reaction is to max out his credit card. She also doesn’t seem to care about Garterbelt’s lectures on their behavior and the ghosts of the city, since she’d rather eat sweets than pay attention.
The reason why she’s allowed to eat so many sweets is because she literally cannot gain any weight from consuming them. She prides herself in her perfect body, and will say this whenever someone tells her she’ll get fat. However, when someone actually CALLS her fat, she will once again lose her temper and beat the shit out of that person. When she does gain weight due to one of the ghosts, Stocking works hard to lose that weight and get her image back. It doesn’t work, though, causing her to lose all self-control and consume as many treats as she can shove into her mouth. When she goes back to normal, she says that she ‘won’t sweat the extra kilo or two’, although she still gets angry when someone calls her obese. Even if she does get mad at being called fat, Stocking isn’t at all self-conscious about her body. In fact, she’ll strip down to nothing with a whole group of people watching without paying any attention to them. She’ll also use her own sex appeal in certain situations, like during a few of her jobs and when she’s transforming.

She is also intelligent and level-headed most of the time, which allows her to assess situations better than her sister.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, her weapons can only work on supernatural beings. So while demons, ghosts, and other angels are fair game, her swords cannot harm regular humans. Also, her love of sweets and rivalry with her sister can prove to be huge downfalls. Stocking is only fully effective in battle when Panty is around and vice versa, so fighting alone can prove to be a huge problem. If there are sweets around, Stocking can also be distracted by them, even if they aren’t actually sweets and just look like them.

• She always carries around a stuffed cat with her, called Hanekoneko. Its expressions tend to change depending on Stocking’s mood.
