Fandom: The Real Philosopher's Stone

Jul 25, 2007 08:40

I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Saturday by 4:30 pm, and I have been processing since then.  Overall, I loved it.  I've read many reviews and I don't think I can do better, so mainly I feel like discussing fandom.  Currently, the fandom close to my heart is the new and relatively small fandom for “Blades of Glory,” and it ( Read more... )

Yay! Stay with the under-rated nonconfusing Blades fandom.

Honestly? The hype over HP is what pisses me off. They're incredibly over-rated and I can't wait for all of this to blow over.

Speaking of Blades, I have two things to upload to the comm. One is finished, one will be by Monday. That'll give the comm a kick in the ass!

How exciting!! I know, HP is fun to duck into and read every now and again but whoa, talk about your crazed fans! Everyone at BOG is at least still nice to each other and supportive of alternate ships instead of up in arms over them! Also, I've been crazy busy with work and planning for the upcoming school year and I'm moving the 1st...but I miss writing for the community! Like crazy withdrawals, but my muses are thwarting me since I've tried to write the story idea with the songs and it's not working out, so I'm on to a new plan...possibly, running through the entire mood theme and writing a ficlet for each emotion. That ought to kick my muses into gear! Also, must write Billy a birthday story!

You still have a little bit of time before his birthday. It's not until the 19th, so that ought to give you time to come up with something satisfactory.

Wanna know some of his favorite kinks? I can give you some that would surely make him squeal.

This is one of the BEST of the pst-DH commentaries I've read, because ti takes everything into account. I'm on the 'minority' (I honestly don't think it coudl have gone any other way and thoughtnothte FAVORITE of the series...I thought it was maybe one of the most emotional) in that I liked it...but yes, I'm already trying to find ways to twist the canon for RP-ing purposes....thought, my normal 'GOD RP-people all SUCK' attitude it still in full effect. It jsut seems weird to things that JKR spent 17 years on her life on thise series. Is it wrong of me that I almost hope she never writes anything else...because it will always be compared to and probably fall short of Harry Potter?

My ships never get love. I care not. ;-)

I rather feel the same about her future writing! If I were her I'd be scared to write anything else, since it would be too much pressure. I'd take my billion and hang out, personally. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to twist cannon, fanfic writers are a creative bunch- plus, magic is the ultimate deus ex machina device. I'm not sure what all your ships are, but I love your Will/Jon ship, which definitely deserves more love!
