Basically, a Big Bang is a ficathon with pretty artwork, but the only real rule is that there is a big wordcount (15,000 seems to be the minimum a lot use). Most BBs also have artwork, however, and when the writer is finished with their story, they send it back to the organisers, who then assign it to a signed up fan artist. A wallpaper/banner is created for the story and then all the stories and artwork are revealed on a certain day!

I did find myself dreaming up a story in which Sheldon Cooper and Sherlock Holmes team up to fight crime as a result of reading one of those BB promotions the wrong way, last week, so I know exactly how you feel :-P

LOL! You don't think that Holmes would want to kill Sheldon? (Everyone else does! LOL)

I'm actually wondering if I should attempt one of the BBs if I can find one. I have several languishing fics, and a quick check of my stories at The Pit was enough to remind me that I'm . . . well, a little bit wordy.
