Last Bastion ( Remember Me)

He paces, worried. The walls of his fortress are strong as the hardest diamonds, and more gorgeous than any jewel in the world. Once upon a time, that fortress looked out at a world it had conquered! It's design was perfect, and at the day of it's construction, built to keep everyone out. And it succeded, it truly succeded! But one day, this fortress fell prey to a tiny little kitten. A shiny brown coat, and big, green eyes to die for! The prince inside the fortress looked at the kitten, and his hard face softened for the first time. He smiled, and the kitten purred as he stroked it.
The fearful prince was no longer afraid of everyone outside his walls! He wandered through his forests and groves, towns and cities, canyons and mountains, all with his kitten by his side. Nothing made him afraid. Not with his beautiful kitten at hand. And oh the people loved his kitten. His kitten made them all happy! It made him happy. The man built fortresses everywhere, and was the most saintly kingu to ever walk the earth.
Then one day, the kitten grew older. Still a kitten, yes, but it wanted to stray from his shoulder where it had ridden all it's life. She did so. The man was sad when she was gone, but he still goverend his lands and made his people happy. Then she returned, and festivals were held in honor of the glorious happiness of the kingdom. Then time passed, and she left again, this time longer. He was sad, but he still loved his kitten, and eveyone loved their kingdom. Then she returned, and tournaments were held, tumpets sang loud, and the kingu was happy yet agian! Then one day she left, and she didn't come back. And so...

He paces, worried. Without his beautiful kitten, he has been losing the people's interest. The world spins on like he never existed, and fortress after fortress falls into ruin. Now his one castle remains. The last bastion of defence from being swept away, forgotten forever. The last bastion of hope. He's on the walls and a north wind tossles his hair. His once glorious golden armor is slightly stained and wrought with marks of wear. He stares out, praying his kitten will return. The sun is setting. The moon is rising. Stars that once shined on happiness now shine on crystal walls that are soaked with tears. Trees sway in the moonlight, and he watches them. The Forlorn Watchman. The Last Bastion. When this one falls, only tomes hidden in musty libraries will remember him. Will remember his once glorious kingdom, and the kitten with the green eyes. He'll stand and watch and wait, as his fortress crumbles around him. The shadows will consume him, and all that will remain will be his wish to be remembered by the kitten he loved so much.

"Remember me, that is All I Ask Of You" he sighs, as he watches.

Two songs tonight. Brick and Landslide.

Can't you see
It's not me you're dying for
Now she's feeling more alone
Then she ever has before
She's a brick and I'm drowning slowly
off the coast and I'm headed nowhere
She's a brick and I'm drowning slowly
As weeks went by
It showed that she was not fine
They told me son it's time to tell the truth
She broke down and I broke down
Cause I was tired of lying
Driving home to her apartment
For the moment we're alone
She's alone
I'm alone
Now I know it
*******************

I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
And the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky--what is love?
Can the child in my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changin'...ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
I don't know.....I don't know...

Well I've been afraid of changin'
Because I've built my life around you
But time makes is bolder; children get older
I'm getting older too....

So, take this love...take it down.
Oh, if you climb a mountain and you turn around
and you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills...
well, the landslide will bring you down;
The landslide will bring you down...
