I want to ask, is there any way to lure you to Dreamwidth? You can import the old LJ entries, comments and all, so they don't disappear.

I actually have a dreamwidth account, but I let it sort of lapse. I can't find any way to import my LJ entries, because I use a Mac. I would love to find something that backs them up, but currently I have to copy and paste every time I post, and I just run out of steam.

I have surgery scheduled for next week, and if they actually manage to fix something this time (there's a huge entry waiting to happen) I am hoping to have more energy.

Well the most important thing is that your surgery goes well! I will send many positive thoughts in your direction.

Macs can import to Dreamwidth from LiveJournal, no problem, creating copies of everything. I've done it on several journals: https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/importer

And Dreamwidth has a cross-poster option, so posting from DW automatically sends to LJ.
