So I started in the middle and it still worked - which must mean something good. This felt quite Chandleresque noirish as in spare and unsparing (of the characters).

There's a novel being re-written at the moment. This takes place about 2-3 years after the end of it. Glad it worked as is, although it's hard to see Lars in this. He's 6'4", and he still keeps his hair dyed black and spiked up from his Goth days, even though he's tenure-track faculty at Georgetown.
