OMG. That was seriously great. It's been a long time, and a fandom long ago, since I read something you've written. I have to say - it was marvelous.

Rodney is such a dog with a bone and you captured it perfectly. And, poor John, stoic as he wastes away. And you treated Jennifer pragmatically and 3 dimensionally.

Very good. Thanks for posting.

Thank you. Sadly, I am much like Rodney, so he is easy for me to write. Jennifer was harder, but the story started in my head with the image of them sitting across the table from each other, having (then a slightly different) version of the conversation.

I'm glad you liked it. I keep saying that I'm not going to write any more fanfic, but at least once a year I get an image I can't shake.

I wouldn't mind if you wrote more than once a year - do you still write on the train?

Trains, planes and automobiles. I've had an original novel almost ready to submit for a while now. If only RL would back off a bit.

Part of me kind of wants the second half of this story, the rest of me doesn't want to CRY. As it is, moisture levels are suspicious.

Um, I'm sorry?

And thank you.

…because then I can imagine they find a miracle cure for John - maybe he could go back to Atlantis? If anybody were to find a miracle cure, Atlantis would. Then John and Rodney could live happily ever after! (John/Rodney/Atlantis, maybe?)

Fantastic story. You did a phenomenal job showing the complexities of the individual relationships without making anyone a caricature. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you. I struggled with Jennifer, but did not want to let her be a patsy or OMG evil. Thanks to my betas, tesserae_ and ivorygates for bashing me appropriately when I failed.

I miss your writing. It makes me want to write more. (Two separate things.) I don't know the fandom, but I loved reading it. Did you get my e-mail awhile back?

I think it had to do with reading the Lars and Brian revision for me, which I will want you to do when I finish revising it. RL has been an utter bitch, in terms of time, for the last year plus.

And I'm glad you liked it. Thank you.

I feel just - cut through - by this piece. I cannot believe how spare and perfect it is.

Thank you. It wasn't my goal to cut, but it's how the story came out.
