[The smoke is worrying Stella a little, so she heads over there... only to find Walter destroying things.]

[Hey, after building and creating so many things, it feels good to destroy some things, too. He's a guy, after all.]

What are you doing out there, Stella?

[You boys and your need to destroy things. Honestly.]

I was wondering what was going on. I saw the smoke.

[We can't all be happy, peaceful girls like you, Stella.]

Smoke? ...Oh.

I'm just practicing. There's no fire or anything.

[The 'edge of town' is right next door to Martel's backyard. She smells the smoke, hears the noise, and steps to her now open doorway to investigate.]

[Walter stands by a stack of splintered and useless [to him] wood, weighing different pieces before taking one and drop-kicking it into the air. He pulls together his eres quickly enough to cause the wood to light on fire, but not complete the Flame Cutter spell as it hits the ground.]

[She can't tell if he's venting some sort of anger or upset, or if he just enjoys being destructive. Still, in case it's the former, she steps out toward him, offering a smile.]

Are you skilled in all elements, or just fire?

[Walter blinks when he realizes he has an audience, looking over his shoulder at the woman. She seems vaguely familiar, but it's hard to tell sometimes in this 'revolving door'-like world.]

[Where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Not wanting to see Luceti set ablaze, Colette hurries to where all the commotion is.]

Oh-- it's just you, Walter.

[Walter frowns at the interruption, setting down the piece of wood he had been contemplating either burning or drenching.]

[She looks at the charred wood littering the forest floor.]

Were you practicing your artes?

...Yes. I'm terribly out of practice. [He makes a face, looking up from the pile of wood.] I've been doing a lot of building and not much of anything else.

[And then suddenly -- ROBOT]

Walter-san!

[Well. Walter takes a step back at the voice, the piece of wood he had thrown into the air landing a few feet in front of him.]

What do yo-- Oh.

[A smile for scaring you. Aegis nods happily.]

Walter-san.

[He wasn't scared! Just-- startled! He blinks a few times, still recovering.]

...Aegis. Uh, what brings you out here?

[He's not blowing up the woods, you stupid Orerines. He's got more sense than that. Besides, the Filial spirits would never talk to him again if he did something like that. Walter continues using pieces of wood as target practice.]

[And there goes that "spot," up in an explosion. Walter doesn't look over to see who was intruding on his training, recognizing the voice instantly.]

Did you need something, Senel?
