[The village was relatively peaceful, making Walter's task of running maintenance on the barracks seem somehow strange. But so much had happened only a month ago, and the Malnosso never touched the buildings he constructed. He'd done most of the repairs already, having long ago patched holes in the roof so people using the interior for training

[And it had seemed like such a peaceful day. She catches the voice post on her journal as she's back at the house.]

Walter--?! [But the transmission on Walter's end is stopped. She hurries outside and looks in the direction of the barracks, catching sight of the battle.

But, irritating as it is, all she can do is watch from the distance. Very little woiuld make her approach a monster like that.]

[Peaceful. Hah. Luceti scoffs at your idea of peace.

Walter had managed to grab his journal, snatching it up before the Aerodactyl's second swoop sends the small item over the roof's edge. He throws a kick at the creature's claw as it passes, grazing it.

Bad move. Now the Aerodactyl knows something's picking a fight.

[Let her pretend it exists, come on Luceti, don't be a jerk.

She's a bit torn. On one hand, maybe she should go for help. She might be able to ask Adell for an extra favour--he seemed competant enough. But, on the other hand, Walter might have this handled. He seemed much stronger in her mind.

So, unless things start to look bad for him, she'll be shifting about some ways away as she changes her mind between going to find help and just watching.]

[As the Aerodactyl swoops down again, Walter winds his arm back and and cracks a glowing fist at one of the Pokemon's large feet. The Aerodactyl just manages to balance itself out, landing roughly on the barracks roof while Walter stands there, stunned. He just finished working on that.

As the Pokemon attempts to get airborne again, Walter makes use of his eres to send an Aqua Laser after the creature.

[....and it's walking through the forest that Ginko first hears the sounds of scuffle-- coming from above the canopy.

He barely manages not tripping, walking with a stare locked on the sky (are those-- wings? And the colored flashes of clothing look familiar, too. until he reaches a place where the branches thin and he can see clearly. Well, well.]

....Walter?

[Walter isn't entirely sure what he's doing right now. The Aerodactyl is still as irritated as ever, but they're far enough from the village now that Walter doesn't have to worry about it destroying his building any houses.

It wasn't scared of him, even after he'd taken to the air with large black wings that no human would have. Walter had to bait and lure the monster further away, all the while trying to figure out what the heck he was going to do next. Beat it up? Trap it? Kill it?]

Damn-- [He narrowly misses getting clipped by monster's tail as it dives at him, his wing warping and reforming as the Aerodactyl tried to grab one. Further away, come on. It looked like the trees below were thinning out, giving him a better view of where he could land. Luring it away and escaping might work. Maybe.]

[Well, that isn't something you see everyday.

Ginko backs up a little as they begin heading over the trees he's standing under. If Walter sees him, it will be staring with the utmost curiosity....and concern, a little concern. What is that thing? ]

[That thing is unfortunately pretty aggressive and pissed off that Walter isn't giving up. Walter drops altitude warily, cursing as the Aerodactyl tries to grab hold of his wings again. Both of his wings warp and try to reform as the talons claw at them, and he's abruptly falling instead of flying.

By the time Walter is able to pull his teriques back together, the treeline is way too close. So instead of trying to fly off and engage the Aerodactyl again, he abandons "luring it away" and goes straight to "escaping" -- by crashing through the treetops.]

[And out on a stroll is a Grune! She might help you if you can get it through her head that this is an enemy, Walter, but don't hold your breath.]

[That Aerodactyl isn't letting up at all. Walter briefly sounds confused by the interruption, doing a double take when he sees Grune.] What are you doing here? [...It's more confusion than anything else, thankfully.]

Oh, well, it was such a nice day…. [Which is a perfectly logical explanation to Grune.]

[She watches the "bird" in some puzzlement. She may be figuring out you need help, Walter. Possibly.]

[...You would think he would be used to this by now. But he doesn't hang out with Grune. Heck, he probably doesn't even know she's left and come back a few times now.]
