Probably worth doing - though remember the speedo is legally restricted to read fast anyway whereas the GPS isn't legally controlled at all and might well be very inaccurate at speed measurement.
(Speedometers are not permitted to read under the speed you're doing else you could claim a speedo error if done for speeding. They're allowed to be accurate or fast. If it was set slightly fast anyway and the GPS was reading poorly then these factors could make it seem worse).
I know this. I have also read that at speeds over 25 mph the speedo must not read more than 110% + 6.25 mph of the actual speed - so for example at 50, it mustn't show over 61.25 - this is where my worry would lie, providing that my source of information is accurate.

Don't forget to make sure the door is working for the MOT, else that's an instant fail.

Anyway, having done some comparisons with the GPS I'm going to get it recalibrated because it's reading so extremely high at faster speeds.
