Well, this is my first attempt at a post on LJ. I still have a lot to figure out about it, but I guess I'll be learning as I go. First off, I'd like to thank everyone who friended me. I hope reading my little scribbles will be worth your time

It's great that Chambana is at the Historic Lincoln. When bardiclug and I lived in CU we spent our Christmas Eve's at that hotel's holiday buffet. Then we'd sit in front of the big fireplace in the lobby and have brandies.

The department store I worked for had all their holiday parties there also.

It's nice to know it's still there. :)

According to what I heard, the hotel is in recievership, but hopefully it will be available for next years's Chambanacon. In addition to the suits of armor in the lobby, there was a short stairway from an outer corridor leading to a large function area in the basement that went through a "dungeon style" door with a rounded top. Very cool. There was also a very cool wooden bench about the size of a loveseat with carved (I think)gryphons for armrests done in a black finish. I'm wondering if those features were there when you visited the hotel.

Hopefully we'll be able to see you and bardiclug around these parts sometime in the not too distant future!

Thanks for the comment. Yes, we can certainly arrange crash space for you and anyone else who may wish to join you for the weekend. Tigertoy and Helen, Bill Rintz, and my sweetie's friend Lisa from Evanston all joined Ithiriel and myself this year and had a great time. We attended Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For more info, check out www.Irishfest.com. Tigertoy and Helen have been coming up here for the last 5 years to join me for Irishfest. I've been talking it up for a while looking for other interested people. I am always happy to have other people to join in the fun with us. The more the merrier!!! I may only be able to offer floor space, but Barisha and Richard Letterman live a short 5 minute drive from my place, have a large house, and are always happy to have house guests. Let me know what your plans are at least a couple of months in advance and I will do my best to accomodate. Hope you can make it in 08!!!
