Having spent the whole morning waiting in various areas of my local GP's office because of a Mystery Allergy, I had actually forgotten about Talk Like A Pirate Day until I got home and found a reminder in the email...from one of the Wing-level CAP officials! So I sent him a link to your song, just in case he had not heard it yet.

Ahoy there! If you have a Krispy Kreme in your area, they'll hand over an original glazed donut if you talk like a pirate. If you dress like a pirate, they'll hand over a dozen of these wonderful little gems.

When I went into my local Krispy Kreme, I sang a couple of verses of "Hermione Granger, The Pirate Queen." I would have sung the whole song, but there was a line forming behind me.

Yep! Wore my Jolly-Roger socks and head-scarf, and me necklace of tiny skulls. Sent out the to-do lists to my manager and co-workers with "Here be yer sailin' orders, Cap'n / shipmates," started the conference call with "Permission to board," and said "Thank'ee, lass" to the smiling woman bussing my lunch tray at the BBQ place. ("Wench" has a history of racist associations when white people say it to black women, so I defaulted to another piratey nomenclature).

Now i'm off to the farrrrmer's marrrrket with my little pink skull-and-crossbones coin purse full of gold dollar coins. Need Carrot shavings for me salad...

I had eye surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago - I was terribly disappointed that I didn't have to wear an eye patch, not even for one day. I was planning to wear it with a striped t-shirt and a bandanna scarf tied sideways on my head. (All purple, because my entire wardrobe is purple to begin with.) But I haven't been able to get my swash to buckle in decades.

Y'know why pirates always drink rum? Because "rum" begins with ARRRR, of course!
